Region 4 Consortium Coordinator (RCC)

Our largest children and youth program is the Region 4 Violence Prevention and Intervention Program for children and youth.  This program serves over 1,000 children and youth each year from Region 4 of the Chicago Public Schools, which extends: from the Lakefront on the East to the City Limits on the West; from Cermak Road (22nd Street) on the North to Garfield Blvd. on the South (55th Street).  This program serves over 1,000 low to moderate income vulnerable, marginal, out of school, and homeless youth through 20 communities in Chicago in placing them in out of school quality program.  The 20 communities served are Armour Square, Bridgeport, Brighton Park, Canaryville, Gage Park, McKinley Park, New City, Garfield Ridge, West Elsdon, Archer Heights, Fuller Park, Hyde Park, Bronzeville, Little Village, Chinatown, Pilsen, Douglas, Kenwood, Oakland, and Lawndale.

The BYNC Region 4 serves as the coordinating body for 275 agencies, religious institutions, parks, schools, and other city and state agencies such as: CAPS, the Chicago Public Schools, the States Attorney’s Office, After School Matters, and the Chicago Police Department, so that through a network of children and youth programming we can better serve these youth during out of school time, when they’re most vulnerable to the violence that occurs on the streets.
